According to AppleInsider, Morgan Stanley mentioned in a report to investors that although the sales performance of the iPhone 16 was good, it was not as good as expected.
Apple is said to have sold 37 million iPhone 16 series in the first weekend of the new device’s launch. Most of them are the iPhone 16 Pro Max, while the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have also seen an increase in sales compared to previous years. Although these numbers may seem impressive, the actual demand is still lower than the previous iPhone.
To illustrate this point, Morgan Stanley mentioned the waiting time when buying the iPhone 16 series. The survey results show that the maximum wait time for the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 25.5 days. It’s really not short, but it’s a lot shorter than last year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 43.5 days. Checkout– iPhone 16 Pro Max Ranked 1st for Video shooting by DxOMark- But overall ranked at 4th place
Compared to other iPhone launches, the iPhone 16 series has the shortest delivery time since the iPhone 12 in 2020. As a result, Morgan Stanley predicts that Apple may reduce orders for the iPhone 16 in response to lower demand.
There could be several reasons for the relatively low demand for the iPhone 16. On the one hand, Apple may have a more accurate judgment of this year’s demand, so that it can ship faster. On the other hand, consumer enthusiasm for the iPhone may not be as high as it used to be.
It’s worth noting that some of the iPhone 16’s important features aren’t fully live yet. For example, all Apple Intelligence features are still in beta, including the iPhone 16-exclusive visual intelligence features, two-stage shutter control, and a full Siri 2.0 upgrade. Once these features are launched, they may spark more users’ interest in upgrading.
However, it is believed that the iPhone 16 has been officially released for less than a month, and in fact, it has only been on sale for a week, so it is too early to conclude that it failed or succeeded.
