Moto G85 5G launched in India but is unlikely to beat VIVO or XIAOMI

With its vivid display and hardware potential, the Moto G85 5G could add some value to users’ lives and stand out from its competitors in the market. Although Motorola, in its phone category, has already lost its charm among smartphone users, you hardly see this company’s smartphones in people’s hands now. Let’s see whether it could replace Vivo and Xiaomi phones under the ₹ 20,000 category range this time.

Display and design

The Moto G85 5G includes a stunning 6.67-inch P-OLED display with sharp, colorful visuals. Thanks to the display’s 120Hz refresh rate and 1,600 units of peak brightness, users can enjoy fluid scrolling and excellent viewing even in direct sunlight. The display is also resistant to normal wear and tear and is covered by Gorilla Glass 5.

The phone will have a sleek and light design, weighing only 172 grams and measuring 7.59 mm thick. It will also have three sophisticated vegan leather finishes: Cobalt Blue, Olive Green, and urban grey, adding a touch of elegance.

CPU and Storage

The Moto G85 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 CPU, expected to deliver good performance. With 256GB of internal storage and up to 12GB of RAM, it will provide seamless multitasking and enough room for movies and programs. For those who require less, a model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will also be offered.

Camera

The Moto G85 5G was expected to have a powerful camera configuration. After launch, we have a rear dual-camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for stable and sharp images even in low-light conditions. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens is expected to work wonderfully for taking group photos or wide-angle landscapes. A 32-megapixel front camera is for selfies, which we hope would offer sharp self-portraits and video calls.

Durability and Battery

The phone’s IP52 classification offers defense against water and dust splashes. Its 5,000mAh battery inside provides enough power to last the entire day. Furthermore, the gadget facilitates 33W rapid charging, enabling users to replenish their battery and resume tasks swiftly without prolonged disruptions.

Availability

After launch, the Moto G85 5G is available to be sold on Flipkart from 6th June 2024, starting at rupees 16,999. Apart from Flipkart, it is available on the Motorola India website and in-person retailers.
